Project Thabiti
Thabiti is a youth-centered initiative that promotes mental wellbeing in the spaces where young people live, learn, and connect. Through universal prevention approaches, the program strengthens resilience and supports social and emotional learning.

PROJECT THABITI
Youth mental health is a growing crisis, and support often comes too late. Without early intervention, the personal, social, and economic costs escalate putting an entire generation at risk. Evidence shows that investing early in mental health promotion and prevention yields one of the highest returns on investment, improving lifelong wellbeing, educational outcomes, and productivity while reducing future health and social costs. Thabiti responds to this urgency by embedding prevention-focused mental health promotion within the social systems that shape young people's lives building resilience and strengthening support networks proactively.
OUR IMPACT
Project Thabiti has grown to reach over 600 young people through secondary schools across Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Currently this project is supported by Being – an international mental health initiative hosted by Grand Challenges Canada and funded in part by the Government of Canada, Fondation Botnar, and The UK's Department of Health and Social Care using UK aid through the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
